Las Vegas Tribune Endorses Jonathan MacArthur for Justice of the Peace

In an editorial on February 20, 2008, the Las Vegas Tribune declared its support for Jonathan MacArthur over the other candidates running for Justice of the Peace for North Las Vegas Department 3. Citing a variety of reasons, the article points primarily toward the District Attorney’s office in general—and one of MacArthur’s opponents in particular—as representatives of the status quo. “We are tired of seeing prosecutors who have been elected to the bench who then always rule on behalf of the State because of their mentality that everyone is guilty,” the article asserts. The article goes on to cite reasons for the need for change in the judiciary, and endorses MacArthur as the vehicle for that change.
